Our school is located in the city
peripheries. It is made up of 15 teachers and about 300 students. It is an
Infant and Primary School so we have students from 6 until 12 years old. The
families´ socio-cultural level is middle-low class and we sometimes do not have
the necessary families support to carry out many activities developed in our
school. Unemployment has become one of the main problems in this area and that
is reflected in our students´ academic outcomes due to the lack necessary
equipment, in most of the cases.
We had 1 Erasmus+ project in school,
although some of our teachers, including the Principle, the Vice president and
the Accountant, have a very large experience on several previous Comenius
Projects working in other schools.
In recent years, Tenerife has received
a large number of immigrants from Latin America and consequently we have in our
school a considerable number of students from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador,
Russian, Chinese, Romanian, Brazilian students. In this sense, our students
need to have an education for equality, accepting each different culture and
showing interest in learning about new ways of life. This project is also a challenge
for our teachers who seek to bring Europe closer to our island.
Our school consider very important for
our community the opportunity to be part of a project which will make us a
better organization, by working together with some other countries and letting
us enjoy with a European professional development.

Maria Rosetti School is a public
school in Bucharest with a stable population, middle-class families. All the
classes have video projectors and SMART blackboards connected to internet, well
equipped IT lab, science and library.
Pupils
- 850 students aged 6-15; 18% students
from different ethnic communities (Armenians and Macedonians) and different religions
(Orthodox, Greco/Roman Catholic, Muslin, Jewish), 7 with special needs. Pupils
wish to join European projects.
The school has 42 highly qualified
teachers, who participated in several national projects (for 6 years we collaborate
with Local Mayoralty in an Eco-project “Schools’ spring” during which we
greened the G.Garibaldi park and made a lot of activities in school - movies,
workshops, debates) and 20 years of European project’s experience (Comenius
Grundtvig, Erasmus+ and eTwinning).
We have a good collaboration with
local authorities (ISMB – scholastic inspectorate and Mayoralty of Bucharest)
and different NGOs.
PTA is very interested in cooperation
with us and asks us to develop European projects to give pupils a chance to
interact with their peers in a controlled and secure mode. They participate
actively at our extracurricular activities.
School Management Plan of Sept. 2019
decided to become an Eco-school and to collaborate with schools in Europe to
carry out joint projects on this topic knowing that Greenpeace Romania, Hotnews
and airly.eu declare that for 3 years the inhabitants of Bucharest daily put
their health in danger due to air pollution. In Bucharest, the maximum permissible
pollution limits are 7 times higher larger than allowed. We need to integrate
pupils into social activities and become active and responsible citizens, to
increase their skills through work in European projects in line with European
standards.
School has 20 years of U.E. project’s
experience and 10 ETwinning projects since 2010.

The school SULTANTEPE ORTAOKULU has 28
classrooms and all classrooms have got interactive boards and the school has 3
labs. There are 1000 pupils between 10-14 years old. The percentage of students
with problems you have families' 5%. We have 8 disability pupils and their disabilities
are Autism, Mongolism and Learning disability. We have 60 teachers and 2
psychologists.
The social ethnical composition of the
community: we have diverse ethnic identities from around the Turkey. It contains
Turks, Kurds, Greek, Armenians and Jewish communities. Today, it has a very
mixed demographic structure, including poor
communities, immigrants mainly from
eastern and south eastern regions, the creative-professional middle classes,
Gypsies, Kurds, foreign immigrants such as Afghan, African, Iranian Syrian,
Bulgarians and Russians.
The SWOT analysis from September 2019
has shown us that our students need to know, promote and preserve the natural
and cultural values of our country, to improve the knowledge and skills of
students and teachers through exchanges of experiences with other schools in
European space. We have the experience of ecological projects at local level
and we also have the experience of international projects' management. This
fact gives us the confidence that we are able to achieving excellent future
cooperation and we also want to train students integrated in the modern, European
society.

Our school has 4 buildings: 2 biggest
are in town center with 13 classrooms; with computer labs. Each classroom has
an interactive board connected with a computer/laptop. We have 900 pupils of
10-14 (35 have physical/cognitive disabilities, 100 have special educational
needs as dyslexia, social needs, economic difficulties) – all have special
teachers who work together with the subject class teachers. There are
immigrants from Albany, East Europe and North Africa; the volunteer
associations and teachers at school work hard to improve their integration.
We have 100 teachers and 23
non-teaching people.
Our pupils and teachers would like to
participate to European project in order to meet different people and culture,
compare their lifestyles and school experiences and use a foreign language with
real pupils in real contexts of situation. Our school goal is to improve the
acceptance of other cultures e promote the integration of all people,
regardless, their race, religion, language and
customs.
- students and teachers are attracted
to new IT programs and want to work with teams from other countries to assess
their level of knowledge
- a new Ecological project is
extremely necessary, knowing that, in recent times, the impact of air, water
and soil pollution, their implications across Europe and the planet, the
traditional foods and healthy lifestyles have been replaced by pseudo-foods, chemical-industrial
concentrates that create obesity, nitrate intoxication, sulfur dioxide,
L-cysteine, and the like. This is already at an international level and young
people should be taught to maintain their health, to learn how to protect
energy resources, find alternatives to using oil, and more. At the same time
young people need to be concerned about preserving a clean environment, preserving
ecosystems for the good of all.
- We participated to eTwinning
projects with other countries in the years 2013-15, "C.O.M.P.A.S.S. Come
Over – Make a Project Attempt to Social Solidarity" and we won the first
European eTwinning prize "Mevlana" for the year 2016
- The school organized recycling
activities in order to collect money for national and international charity
associations. We take part to environmental and health projects organized by
local and national volunteering associations.

The school organization is a cluster
composed by several schools (25 in total) from pre-schools, primary schools and
low secondary schools. In total we have about 2200 students and 200 teachers.
The students target group for this project will have between 11-15 years old.
In our school there are several
students with special needs integrated in our school. We teach regular
curriculum established in Portugal for basic education. As complementary offer
we have subjects like Technological Education and Citizenship. We develop with
our students several projects about science/environmental issues (Eco-Schools),
but until now, only at national
level. We have a science club that is
integrated in national network of science clubs (Clube Ciência Viva) that is
dedicated in pupils' science development. We have developed during the past
years some important skills and knowledge, in particular about science,
environment, and technology, through the engagement in projects, mainly at
national level. However, our student’s steel needs to develop a deeper and
broader sense for European Citizenship and start working for common goals.
Our school has:
-good experience in European
projects/more than 10 eTwinning Science projects
-qualified staff
-finance stability of project’s budget
-we have IT/ Science labs
- pupils and parents are very
interested in European projects that provide a safe space for communication
with foreign students
-
the project will increase students schools’ performances
-
pupils' ecological behaviors
-
school absenteeism will be reduced
Since
last year, new teachers come to work in our school; they have previous
experience with projects at European level. We have a KA101 Erasmus Project
ongoing, called “Internationalization for Innovation and Inclusion”.
-In
our school we need to stimulate and valorize students potential and ideas. We
need also to involve students and their families in projects/activities that
enhance their integral development.
-Pupils
and teachers have experience and interest for science subjects and we want to
continue our experience with exchange of ideas with other schools in Europe.
